Necro as 2nd profession
PvE, I know lotsa skills been nerfed and i havent played in a couple of years, but still like the game. One idea was a R/N:
Read the Wind
Chillblains
Plague Sending (obviously send the poison to the bad guys)
Mark of Pain
Barrage (should trigger MoP as well as hit adj bad guys, maybe trigger double damage on adj targets?)
Splinter Shot (would still allow MoP to trigger with high block or enchant)
Needle shot (quick spam to trigger MoP)
Rez
D/N
Mark of Pain
Chillblains
plague sending (again, basically poisoning bunched bad guys)
Pious renewal (recast after each attack below)
eremites attack (uses energy rather than adrenaline, the strike adj foes by removing pious renewal should give life energy as well as ramp up adrenaline)
twin moon sweep (used after recasting p renewal, which should be unblockable and hite twice, triggering mark of pain twice, and synergy heal with ending p renewal)
reap impurities (hits multiple foes when i remove the poison inflicted by the plague sending/chillblains, although not sure this would work in practice, could i get all these attacks/pious recasts off before poison ends?)
havent put much thought into the equip part. mostly just focusing on an effective skill bar so far. i really like the D/N idea but i figured i'd better ask the pros how well it would work in practice. i'm sure something like barbs, faintheartedness, shadow of fear, etc. would help also. the idea i like most is the repeat of pious renewal and deliberately ending my own enchantments to give me back life, energy, and trigger a good attack.

Mark of Pain is good synergy with physical attacks, no doubt about that. However, it is much better left to a hero, micro'ed if needed be.
Also, the ranger build would not work at all as far as energy management is concerned.

Good point I never thought about the heroes. Although I'm admittedly poor at managing them, I just put skills on them and hope they're using them intelligently. Maybe I'll do some reading on how to better manage them. I was also considering a spinal shivers combo with my ranger, I figured that combined with a ranged attack (with winter or an icy bow) would be good for interrupting spellcasters. so many options...been a couple years since i played so figuring this stuff out is a bit of a challenge hehe

Looks weird and very energy consuming, use MoP on a Hero

Good point. maybe this is where that micro stuff comes in handy. Or maybe I could help by using an energy bowstring or maybe theres a necro well skill that will help with energy management.
Maybe it would be better to look at my builds in terms of what I could do that a hero couldn't, rather than trying to find some uber skill combo set up.
W/N and Me/N seem to be the most popular so maybe I should just go those routes and stop trying to be overly creative
I still want to try the Dervish combo though, that seems more workable than the R/N idea.

Trying to run spells on a melee bar tends not to work, cause they'll run away from you while you cast.
